2010 Healthy Kids Buy-In Changes

Each year, NH Healthy Kids conducts a review of the premium rate for the Healthy Kids Buy-In program. Continuing with our goal to “keep every kid covered,” we work hard to keep the premium rate as low as possible. This is a goal made difficult in the face of ever-increasing costs in delivering medical care.

This year we have experienced a change in the rate that will result in a new premium of $205 per child per month for the Buy-In program.  This new monthly premium rate is set for one year beginning July 2010 and ending June 2011.

We have kept the increase as low as possible without reducing the benefits of the comprehensive medical and dental insurance coverage that NH Healthy Kids offers.  In order to do this, some copay changes were necessary.  Click here for a document showing these changes which are effective July 1, 2010.

Children enrolled in the Buy-In program will receive new insurance cards from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in June listing these new copayments.  They will not, however, receive new cards from Northeast Delta Dental and should continue to use the cards they currently have.
